AI video production glossary
The terms you will come across in our guides and in the CLAQON panel, explained in one or two sentences and without unnecessary jargon. When a term has a related guide or feature, the arrow takes you to it.
A
- AI director
- An optional CLAQON layer that asks the AI model for emphasis, effects, transitions and inserts for the edit. It is off by default and has its own daily cap. AI director
- AI disclosure
- A notice to the platform that a video contains realistic material generated or altered with AI. CLAQON sends it to YouTube when any scene is a generated image or video. AI disclosure
- AI info
- The label Meta uses on Instagram, Facebook and Threads to flag content generated or edited with AI. It used to be called “Made with AI”. AI info
- AI model
- In CLAQON, the model that writes each account’s scripts, titles and ideas, set up with a main model, its alternatives and its fallback. AI model
- APV (average percentage viewed)
- The average percentage of each video that the audience watches. In CLAQON it is the main learning signal and it is only used with mature YouTube Shorts metrics. APV (average percentage viewed)
B
- Brief
- The evidence gathered from the sources before the script is written. In CLAQON it only accepts verbatim excerpts that are on topic; anything rejected cannot be cited. Brief
C
- C2PA
- An open technical standard that attaches a signed credential to a file, recording its origin and its edits. Platforms such as YouTube, Meta or TikTok read that credential to label AI-generated content. C2PA
- Confabulation
- The term the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) uses for false or erroneous content that an AI model states with confidence. It is what is usually called a “hallucination”. Confabulation
- Content profile
- The record for each account with its niche, video type, format, length, goal and editorial approach. It guides what is produced on that account. Content profile
- Continuous improvement
- The part of CLAQON, in beta, that measures results and adjusts some safe levers on its own, such as caption capitalisation or the visual treatment, with safeguards and a rollback if things get worse. It never changes the content, the voice, the schedules or the budget on its own. Continuous improvement
D
- Deepfake
- An image, audio or video generated or manipulated with AI that resembles real people, places or events and could appear authentic. In Spanish, ultrasuplantación. The European AI Act requires it to be disclosed. Deepfake
F
- Faceless channel
- A video channel in which the person who makes it does not appear: the story is told with a voice-over on top of images, stock clips, graphics or animation. In Spanish it is known as a canal dark. Faceless channel
H
- HARD QC
- A deterministic quality check of the script: without AI, it checks that every figure and every claim is backed up, among other rules. The script only moves on with 100 out of 100. HARD QC
- Hook
- The first words or first seconds of a video, which introduce what it is going to tell and decide whether the viewer keeps watching. Hook
I
- Idempotency
- The property of an operation that produces the same result even if it is repeated. In CLAQON, an idempotency key prevents the same job from being produced twice. Idempotency
- Inauthentic content
- The name YouTube gave on 15 July 2025 to its monetisation policy on repetitive or mass-produced content, which cannot be monetised. It does not ban the use of AI: it targets the template that is repeated without adding anything. Inauthentic content
- IPTC DigitalSourceType
- An IPTC metadata field that indicates the digital source of an image or a video, for example whether it was created or edited with generative AI. IPTC DigitalSourceType
J
- Job log
- The log of every production job, with its key, its reservation, its outcome, the reason and the costs. In the panel it also appears as ledger, and it is not the same as the spend log. Job log
K
- Karaoke captions
- Captions that highlight each word at the moment it is spoken, synchronised with the timing of the voice. Karaoke captions
L
- Low-cost exit
- Closing a piece before spending, when a budget or an authorisation does not cover it. The idea goes back to the queue for another slot. Low-cost exit
M
- Market
- The target country or region of an account, with its time zone, its language, its form of address and its slots for each platform. CLAQON includes 12 markets. Market
- Mature metric
- A data point from a YouTube Shorts piece that has been published for at least 3 days. CLAQON’s learning only uses mature metrics. Mature metric
O
- OAuth
- The standard protocol you use to authorise an application to publish to your YouTube, Meta or X account without giving it your password. The permission can be revoked and some connections expire. OAuth
P
- Provenance record
- A document that CLAQON generates for each piece with the licences, providers, credits and digital source type of every asset. Anything not on record is left blank: it is never filled in. Provenance record
Q
- Quote and reservation
- Before a paid step, CLAQON works out how much it will cost and reserves that amount within your caps. Quotes expire, so an old price cannot be used to spend. Quote and reservation
R
- Reframing
- Adapting a video to another format, for example from landscape to vertical, by choosing which part of the shot is shown: cropping, fitting with bars, a blurred background or stacked areas. Reframing
- Required action
- A task that CLAQON asks you to carry out in the control room, with the reason, the steps and the exact button to resolve it. It closes on its own once it has been confirmed as done. Required action
- Reused content
- Other people’s material published without a significant contribution of your own, such as commentary or a real transformation. YouTube does not monetise it and Facebook reduces its distribution. Reused content
S
- Safe zone
- The part of the video that is not covered by each platform’s buttons, title or description. Text that falls outside it may not be seen. Safe zone
- Self-hosted
- Software that you install and run on your own machine or on a server in your name, instead of using it on the vendor’s servers. In Spanish, autoalojado. Self-hosted
- Similarity check
- A CLAQON check that compares each piece with the previous 30 from the same account and warns you if the opening, the text or the structure is repeated too much. It only warns: it does not block. Similarity check
- Slot
- A production or publishing time for an account. Each account can have up to 4 a day, at least 90 minutes apart. Slot
- Spend cap
- A spending limit per video, per day or per month that stops production when it is reached. Spend cap
- Spend log
- The log that keeps a single entry for every paid call and feeds the “Spend this month” card. If an entry is lost, the month’s figure is marked as incomplete. Spend log
- Stock clips
- Videos and photos from licensed libraries, also known as stock footage, that illustrate a piece. CLAQON searches for them on Pexels and does not repeat any that the account has used in the last 45 days. Stock clips
T
- Targeted repair
- A new attempt that fixes only the errors the check flagged in a script, without redoing the rest or inventing quotes. Targeted repair
U
- Uncertain outcome
- A paid submission or a publication with no record of whether it went through. CLAQON never retries it on its own: it has to be reconciled first. Uncertain outcome
V
- Verbatim excerpt
- A passage copied exactly as it stands in a source to back up a claim. If it does not appear in the source word for word, it does not count as backing. Verbatim excerpt
- Verifiable claim
- Any statement in a script that can be checked: a figure, a date, a name or a cause-and-effect relationship. In CLAQON it is stored with the verbatim excerpt and the source that back it up; in the panel it also appears simply as claim. Verifiable claim
- Video gate
- The seven conditions that must be met before paying for an AI-generated video clip, starting with an approved script. Video gate
