Compliance record
Compliance record: what each piece contains and under which licence
With the CLAQON compliance record, every video leaves a trail: a provenance record with the music, effects and clips it uses and their licences, the synthetic content disclosure on YouTube when there are generated images or video, and an alert if a piece is too similar to previous ones. Today these are separate parts: the single compliance record that brings everything together does not exist yet.
- A provenance record for each piece
- Synthetic content disclosure on YouTube
- Similarity alert against the previous 30 pieces
What it solves
Why do you need a trail for every video you publish?
When you produce at volume, the questions come later: where this track came from if a Content ID claim arrives, whether this video had generated scenes that had to be disclosed, whether the account is repeating the same template. YouTube’s inauthentic content policy, from July 2025, penalises exactly that kind of repetition.
CLAQON records what it knows about each piece while producing it, instead of reconstructing it from memory. Anything that is not on record stays empty: it is never filled in to make the record look complete.
How it works
What is recorded at each stage of a piece
When planning the scenes
If a scene is going to be a generated image or video and the narration names a person, the real-people guard alerts you or, if you choose, diverts the scene.
When editing
The provenance record is generated: music and effects with their licences, clips and providers, credits and digital source type. You download it as JSON from “Uploads”.
Before publishing
The format limits for X and Instagram are checked, and so is the publishing barrier: a piece marked as a test never goes out and a stopped account blocks every path.
When publishing on YouTube
If any scene is generated, synthetic content is disclosed. The factory can upload the video as private and make it public once the disclosure is accepted.
Afterwards
The similarity check compares the piece with the account’s previous 30 and alerts you if it is too similar. The post-publication check, in beta, reviews what was published for 7 days.
Capabilities
The parts of the compliance record, one by one
- Provenance record
- Music and effects with their licences, clips and their providers, credits for the assets, whether there were generated images or video, and the IPTC digital source type (DigitalSourceType), in machine-readable form.
- Synthetic content disclosure
- On YouTube it is triggered when any scene is a generated image or video. A synthetic voice on its own does not trigger it.
- Similarity check between pieces
- Compares each piece with the account’s previous 30: the text (threshold of 0.45), the opening (threshold of 0.75) and the structure. You see it in “Continuous improvement”. It only alerts: it does not block.
- Real-people guard
- Detects proper names in the generated scenes. By default it alerts you; if you choose, it diverts the scene to stock or to a non-photorealistic illustration.
- Specifications per platform
X: up to 140 seconds and 512 MB. Instagram Reels: from 3 seconds to 15 minutes, 23 to 60 fps and up to 300 MB, with an alert above 3 minutes. YouTube Shorts: up to 180 seconds, vertical or square.
On X and Instagram, if a video does not comply, it is skipped with its own code before uploading, without spending the call. The YouTube Shorts limit serves as a reference for alerts.
- Safe zones
- Alerts in the render summary and a guide you can show or hide in the Studio preview. The margins are approximate.
- Publishing barrier
- A single gate for every publishing path of each piece: a piece marked as a test is never published and a stopped account publishes nothing.
- Rights record Beta
- In the Commentary Room: the rights basis, authorised platforms, expiry and credit to the creator. It blocks if there is no proof of permission or the record has expired.
Limits
What the compliance record does not do yet
- The final file is not marked with C2PA or XMP: the digital source type goes in the record, separately, and that decision is pending legal advice.
- CLAQON does not handle regulatory compliance for you: the record and the disclosure help, but they do not replace the label on each post on Meta or a legal review.
- No one can promise that a platform will not label a video, and CLAQON does not send any AI disclosure on X: the disclosure covers YouTube.
- The real-people guard is a heuristic that works on the narration text, not on the image. It can give false positives, such as a two-word place name.
- The similarity check only alerts: deciding whether a piece goes out is still up to you.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about provenance and synthetic content
What is a video’s provenance record?
It is a JSON document per render with the music and effects that were edited in and their licences, the clips and their providers, the credits and whether there were generated images or video, plus the IPTC digital source type. It is downloaded from “Uploads”. Anything that is not on record is left empty.
Does CLAQON disclose AI-generated content on YouTube?
Yes, when any scene is a generated image or video. In that case the factory can upload the video as private and make it public once YouTube accepts the disclosure. If the disclosure remains pending, the post-publication check (in beta) detects it and alerts you.
Does a synthetic voice mean the video has to be disclosed?
In CLAQON, a synthetic voice alone does not trigger the disclosure: it is triggered when there are scenes with generated images or video. If your judgement or your adviser’s is different, review the disclosure before publishing.
Does it protect me from the inauthentic content policy?
No tool can guarantee that. CLAQON helps with what it can measure: it alerts you when a piece is too similar to previous ones, avoids repeating clips from the last 45 days and requires sources before writing. Read our guide on inauthentic content.
Does CLAQON mark videos with C2PA?
No. Embedding metadata in the final file changes what is published and depends on a legal decision that is still pending. Today the digital source type goes in the provenance record, separate from the video.
